The campaign

Factory farming stops here.

Millions of animals suffer in brutal factory farms across the UK — and the industry wants to build more. We’re working with local communities to stop every single new factory farm application. Our target approval rate: zero.

The scale of it

Why this is the fight that matters.

Millions

of animals are suffering in brutal factory farms across the UK right now.

Trillions

of animals are killed by the world’s animal farming and fishing industries every year.

Zero

new factory farms approved — that’s our mission. Every application, opposed. Every community, supported.

How we win

Stop them before they’re built.

Before constructing a new chicken shed or pig prison, meat corporations must first obtain planning permission from a local council. That’s their weak point — and our opening.

We track every application across the UK, mobilise the local community, and make the case that wins: animal welfare, climate, water pollution, ecological harm, and traffic. Each refused application is a precedent — and a signal to the next council.

In their words

The truth is getting harder to ignore.

“I’ve seen no meaningful change. With the irrefutable evidence of abuse uncovered, I must prioritize my love for animals above all else and step down immediately.”

Why Animal Rising

A nonviolent, people-powered movement.

We’re working towards a sustainable future where humanity shares a positive relationship with animals and nature — by supporting farming and fishing communities through a just transition to a plant-based food system.
